Welcome Everyone!
We first got on the internet back in 1995. Our first website served us well over the years, but it was time to move on. We needed to update our club management software and purchased a product that gives us better management capability and much easier control over our website, too. THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our Builder's Campaign. This new website was funded 100% by your contributions to the campaign.
What will our new internet home give us that we didn't have before?
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
The new calendar will display national, regional, and local chapter events in an easy to use format. Chapter leaders can create their own events. Event creation includes the ability to require registration or RSVPs to attend.
FORUM
Some of our club members do not like social media sites. No longer will these members be excluded
from online interaction with the club. Our new Forum will include all the normal car forum things, plus a sub-forum for each local chapter.
CHAPTER PAGES
Local chapter pages will have a banner, short intro to the club, a clickable display of upcoming events, a list of chapter officers, contact info, and links to external social media sites and/or web pages.
CONTINUOUSLY UPDATED ARTICLES
The new website will feature articles from our members, leaders, and chapters. For example, chapters could use Articles to provide summaries of local club events. FCA leaders could use them to highlight information they want to present to club members and visitors to the site. Members can submit the same type of articles we featured in our magazine. Tech articles, stories about trips, stories of your love of Fiats, or anything you like that is Italian car related.
POLLS and SURVEYS
Previously, we had to pay polling apps to take votes and survey our membership. Now, we will be able to do it via our own website at no extra cost to the club!
MANY ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS
Our new website allows for much easier site management than our old site did. We will be able to add, delete, and edit pages ourselves. In addition, we will be able to make and display our own forms without needing third party software. The site will also allow us to migrate from PayPal and use Stripe to process transactions instead. This will give us a small expense reduction due to lower swipe fees. Behind the scenes, the new software will be a boon for managing FCA.
NOTE: Our new website is not yet fully constructed. We opted to bring it online before we have everything built so that members can start to enjoy many of the new features it offers. There are other website options we will be able to add in as we go. Give us some feedback in the forums and let us know what you think, how we can improve, and what you might like to see added in the future.
