STELLANTIS NEWS:

1. Finally, a good quarterly report! In 2025 Q3, Stellantis saw net revenue increase 13% over 2024 Q3. Global sales were up 4%. While announcing the numbers, Stellantis CEO, Antonio Filosa remarked,

“As we continue to implement important strategic changes in order to provide our customers with greater freedom of choice, we have seen positive sequential progress and solid year-over-year performance in Q3, marked by the return of top-line growth. This is encouraging and we are continuing to build on these gains. We are also taking decisive actions to align Stellantis’ resources, programs and plans to support long-term, profitable growth, including our recently announced $13 billion investment in the U.S.”

2. On October 28th, Stellantis officially debuted their all new 2.0L Hurricane turbo 4-cylinder engine. Slated to appear in many Stellantis vehicles moving forward, the Hurricane features pre-chamber combustion and variable geometry turbocharger that uses boost up to 35psi.

Stellantis calls their pre-chamber combustion “Turbulent jet ignition” or “TJI” technology. Combined with the advanced turbo tech, the Hurricane produces 162 horsepower per liter displacement. The engine is SAE certified at 324 horsepower and 339 ft-lb torque.

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be the first Stellantis model to sport the Hurricane, but expect it to appear in many other models soon.

3. Stellantis plans to invest 13 billion in its US production facilities over the next 4 years.  The investments will produce 5,000 additional jobs in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana.

BRAND NEWS:

Alfa Romeo:

1. Both Alfa Romeo and Maserati have new cars in the Carabinieri lineup. A Giulia QV and MCPURA in full livery were recently added to the Carabinieri fleet. These special purpose vehicles will be used for the urgent transport of organs and blood. I’m guessing the Carabinieri will have no shortage of willing drivers for those missions.

2. Speaking of the Giulia QV, Alfa Romeo has announced the Giulia QV and Stelvio QV will return in April 2026. Unfortunately, it is yet unknown if the QVs will return to the US.

Fiat:

500e produced for the US from November 2023 through May 2025 are being recalled for a missing headlight plug. This oversight puts the cars in violation of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108. The plugs will be installed free of charge. Dealers have already been notified of the recall. Recall letters to customers will go out around December 10th.

Lancia:

While enthusiasts anxiously await Lancia’s return to World Rally Championship at Monte Carlo in January 2026, behind the scenes, industrial analysts speculate Lancia may be among the first European marques to fall victim of Stellantis’ streamlining efforts. If rally success doesn’t translate into improved sales, Lancia faces a very shaky future.

Maserati:

Maserati engineers have unveiled a simple trick on the 2026 Grecale EV that extends its range by ~50 miles. The 2026 Grecale Folgore will be capable of 360 miles on a full charge because its AWD system will automatically convert to 2-wheel drive when AWD isn’t needed.
